Team Briefing & Camera Technical Workflow Standards
MANDATORY BEFORE FIRST SHOT
1. Atomic Time Check (Must Match to the Second)
- Open an atomic clock on your phone (e.g.
time.is) and take a picture of the phone display with your camera. - Take a picture of the camera display screen with your phone and post it in the team WhatsApp group.
- Pay strict attention to time zone changes; every camera must match local atomic time.
2. Camera JPG Quality & Picture Profile Settings
- Shoot JPG only (No RAW):

Neutral(no extra saturation, no Active D-Lighting / Auto Lighting Optimizer). - White Balance & Color:
Auto White Balance (AWB),sRGBcolor space. - Exposure: Add sharpness and default overexposure
+1/3 EV(faces and bib numbers must be bright and readable).
3. Protect Images & Key Athlete Action Shots
- Protect in Camera: Mark 10–20 impression photos and 20–30 best-of athlete action shots as write-protected / read-only using the key button, menu, or programmed Rate button.
- Your Team Leader checks all protected images during card intake!
- Capture 3–5 pictures of as many athletes as possible throughout the planned race duration.
4. WhatsApp Location Pin Drop
- Once you arrive at your course spot, tap Share Live Location / Send Current Location in WhatsApp.
- Format message caption as:
[Acronym] - Spot [Number](e.g.ARON - Spot 1orDIRO - Spot 7). - This allows the team leader to pull GPX points directly for the media upload laptop.
5. Memory Card Requirements & Daily Turn-In
- Only bring freshly formatted memory cards (at least 64GB each; minimum 128GB total capacity per day).
- Write your Photographer Acronym with a Sharpie directly on your cards.
- Accepted types: SDXC, CompactFlash (CF), XQD, and CFexpress.
- Strictly Forbidden: Micro-SD cards with adapters and slow cards (<90 MB/s).
